History
1988-1994
Being a child of the 60's I was raised to understand the
importance of dedicating one's self to their employer. Graduation
from the education system and molding myself into the perfect
employee with a major corporation meant arriving into adulthood
as a well respected member of society. It meant being respected
by my wife, children and family members as a husband, father,
son, and brother. My self image to a large degree was perpetuated
by my JOB advancements and/or recognitions. The general theme
was focus on the JOB and turn it into a life long career.
Well, after sixteen years of hard work, dedication to the
JOB, and promotions into management, I along with four thousand
fellow position holders, was laid off. Great career with four
weeks paid vacation, all the benefits, and seniority, all
swept away due to restructuring.
Today, the majority of United States citizens
buy into the good education, good JOB, equals good life, philosophy.
The only problem, in no way shape or form can we as a global
society continue to pretend there is safety in the security of
the JOB. Usually this is the part where I should provide you
with one example after the other of how the JOB does not work
and how it has failed those who have placed themselves in
its design. I could fill this site with articles, news clips,
even studies for your reading pleasure, however, to confirm
the demise of the JOB, you simply need to pay attention to
the news or do a search online and read away. Please take
time to look around, you will find more proof than I can
put in this website.
The only part of this JOB / life equation that
provides real long term value to individuals is the education
part. As a matter of fact, I would challenge every single
person to believe life is a continuous education process
and how life turns out depends one hundred percent on not
what happens to you but what you do with what happens to you.
Often times whether you respond, or whether you react to life will
depend on your education. Since its beginning the Direct Sales,
MLM, Homepreneur? world has promoted reasons/goals as the
number one proponent of the life changing decision that propels
people from JOB to homepreneurship. Wrong, not even close!
So, what makes a person move from a JOB that
pays enough money to satisfy the bills and maybe a little extra,
to the world of homepreneurship? The answer really is much
simpler than one would believe.
In 1977, a friend introduced me to Amway.
I could have never been more disinterested. Instead,
in 1978 after graduating, I went directly to work in
one of the highest paid JOBs in the area. Ten dollars
and four cents per hour when everyone I knew was
leading apparently happy lives on salaries much
less than twenty thousand per year. In 1986, I found
myself searching for a HEPA filter for my home when I
found NSA, Inc. I proceeded to "sign up" so I could
get the air filters and water filters wholesale. Soon
I realized the business opportunity and with no one
to show me the ropes (no education) I proceeded to
do everything wrong. After graduating up the ladder,
I realized I did not have a clue. My theory is, in NSA
I learned what not to do. It's important to learn from
what we do wrong as much as it is important that we
learn from what we did right.
1994-1999
In January of 1994, I received a cassette from
a doctor in Atlanta . On this cassette, Mr. Dale Calvert was
talking about systems and how duplication of simple systems
was the key to MLM Success. I called Dale and after a short
discussion, started building a team. The results of
implementing and in many cases designing simple systems
for our team propelled me straight to the top of the leadership
platform. For this work, New Image Int. awarded my wife and I
with the only Leadership award for 1995. This award came with
a new level of respect from the company and field leadership.
John Maxwell calls this position power.
Position power, when utilized properly can create
a proper "personal presentation." Used improperly, it can be
perceived as arrogant and/or belligerent. It's a great idea to
work on personal power and allow the position power to occur
naturally. In other words, work harder on yourself than you do
your business. Mr. Rohn reminds us "the idea is not to become a
millionaire, but to become the kind of person a millionaire is."
The law of attraction demands that we surround ourselves with what
we are. Some people repel, and some people attract. Create the
image of the person you want to be and work daily on becoming that
person. In the sentences above, I described what my life consisted
of between 1994 and 1999. Constantly working and being the best
student I could be allowed me to arrive at a point where industry
leaders and/or company owners were coming to me for advice.
1999-2000
After getting my hands around what makes the
difference between amateurs and professionals, I realized professionals
all become very good at qualifying and working with ONLY the right
people. After several years of hard work and practice, I found
myself in this category however, at the same time, I found myself
struggling with how to duplicate this posture. The mid 90's birthed
the dawn of the Internet. To my benefit, in the late 90's Direct
Sales and MLM companies were trying to find their way around this
maze of technology.
For the first time, a technology existed combining
the telephone, the typewriter, the radio, the TV, and the
US/International mail. Communication would never be the same.
I stood back and took a look at my process of bringing business
builders to the table as opposed to product users (customers).
The simple process of interviewing my prospects allowed me to
very quickly create two categories "serious" and "curious."
Prior to the Internet these interviews would last (sometimes)
an hour. The other challenge with my phone interviewing process
was duplication. While I had developed the talent to “listen
and lead” the interviewee into my business, the masses of people
could not present this interview with a prerequisite introduction.
They could not cold capture the prospect in order to set up the interview.
I contacted an aspiring Senior Director in my
team who had the ability to program a website that would play
an emotionally stirring movie and then capture a specifically designed
interview. At that time, I had no idea that www.HomebusinessGo.com
would grow to become an industry standard.
2000-2001
During the first part of 2000, the president of
New Image International, Inc implemented a corporate take
over… within months the company I had spent 5 years building
was swept away. With literally thousands of people devastated
by the disassembling of the company, myself and two other Leaders
co-founded Nu Creations, Inc. a new home for all. This home
would provide hope to all of those who depended upon the decision
we made as leadership. During the same time and through
Homebusiness.To, Inc., I continued my consulting work within
the industry generically. By this time the demand of my time
for generic training was filling up most of my schedule.
2001-2002
Homebusiness.To, Inc. exploded. Within 18
months, the company sales exceeded $1.5 million in sales.
Not bad for an upstart online affiliate business. We
were growing, opening a development office in Georgetown,
Kentucky. However, that was not the part that excited
me the most. The absolute best part of the Homebusiness.To,
Inc. success was, people who in the past had a difficult
time recruiting were signing up and retaining team members!
We were getting bombarded with emails from people who
were having first time success in the industry! I added
some online audios explaining the interview process and
then began doing generic conference calls with the
Homebusiness.To, Inc. customers.
I have found when one gives more than they
receive, the gifts continue to flow. It's only when
one stops providing value their business suffers. Because
my material was becoming more popular in the industry, I
received more and more requests for different sites. In
some of my training, I talk about niche markets. Niche markets
are an invaluable tool to the marketer. It allows people to
focus all of their website's attention (from colors to music,
etc) on one particular group. The group that I had become the
most intrigued with was young mothers. I think it is the most
unfair, unjust situation to birth a beautiful baby then be
forced to hand it over to a stranger.
Our team created a site called FreeMoms.com.
This site was one of the first on the Internet to be devoted
completely to a niche market, and as expected it exploded! We
still have thousands of customers who use the
www.FreeMoms.com
system daily to build their businesses.
In the same year our first foreign partner
out of Austria partnered with us. He loved the concept of
the Homebusiness.To, Inc. site and wanted to create a version
in German. So, our developers got together and created www.Workathome.at.
The site uses all of the concepts and ideas of HomebusinessGo.com,
but is translated into German. The site continues to serve
thousands of people throughout Europre.
2002-2003
While HomebusinessGo.com continued to grow it
arrived at a point where the company was building similar
system for other MLM companies and leaders. My time had
transitioned from help the masses understand how to complete
interviews to designing complete systems for other MLM leaders
and companies. It was during this time I was approached by the
creators of the TAEBO® fitness videos. They had created an MLM
division, Malibu Naturals. They wanted me to help systemize the
material and get their sales moving forward. This was a departure
from HomebusinessGo.com. Nu Creations, Inc. was struggling and I
thought this project could turn into the company that all of
those great people who looked to me for direction could depend
on. I was excited about the possibilities. The (TAEBO®) people
promised to bring infomercial support and I would provide the
Internet and Network Marketing components. I labeled this business
model "Tri-plex Marketing®." The combination of their infomercial
experience combined with my Internet/Network Marketing experience
provided phenomenal promise.
Our team first started by putting a training
system in place (The New University for the 21 st Century
Entrepreneur®). No company can survive without duplicable
training for its distributors. Also, recognizing the power
of the 200 million dollar branded name I knew the company
would be concerned about compliance and or the exploitation
of their name. So, our team provided the company with a
website solution that would allow them to monitor and remove
content while allowing representatives to customize their
Internet presence. This software stands today as one of the
most revolutionary software ever built for the MLM/Direct
Sales Industry. Finally, I knew that everyone who was going
to represent the 200 million dollar branded name TAEBO® needed
to be interviewed.
Malibu was going to be a company that took
the name seriously and was going to represent it correctly.
Our team created the first ever "Accredited Interviewer Program"
where each potential representative was interviewed before
becoming a representative. The duplication of "Accredited
Interviewers" allowed us the ability to start everyone off in a
very specific and correct direction, helping them understand
their responsibility behind the opportunity. Note: It became
extremely obvious, as Direct Sales and MLM companies proceed
into the twenty-first century increasingly they will be held
responsible for what their representatives are saying and doing.
This software was the answer to many of the control issues experienced
by companies while empowering the field representatives to
exercise their talent.
2003-2004
In the first 10 months, we doubled the sales volume
for Malibu Naturals. We were excited about the future and knew
that Malibu was on the way up. We were told at our National
Conference (in Atlanta) we would be taping the first media quality
video for an infomercial. I couldn't have been more excited. The
conference went well and everyone was excited about the future.
Unfortunately, contract issues concerning the TAEBO®
name and the lack of funding set the corporation up to breach their
promises made to me and the team. For the third time in my career,
I was exposed to a corporate team of individuals who either never
had or they lost their value-focused purpose. Many representatives
lost faith in the industry, and some lost faith in me. This was
it! I couldn't allow this to happen again. I knew that in order
for the people to be successful; I would have to create a home,
a home that would not go out of business on them.
2004-2005
While transitioning out of Malibu Naturals and
into JGO, Inc., I learned a lot about my team. Over the past
four years, I had assembled a tremendous group of people who
had been in and out of the trenches with me. I only ask two
things of the people I work with, trust and dependability. This
team could handle anything I threw at them. I knew that JGO would
be a huge undertaking, and would require full agreement by
everyone in my team. Everyone and I do mean everyone agreed
and JGO was born.
So we opened JGO, Inc. The company's name
stands for Journey, Growth and Opportunity. My Life is an
example of one simple law, “if you Journey outside your
understanding of how to make money, your comfort zones,
Grow through personal development, life will place in front
of you boundless Opportunity.” JGO, Inc. has been formulating
and testing its business model since July of 2004. I couldn't
be more proud of the team members who have been part of
the process.
2005-2006
As many of you know, Jim Rohn is one of my mentors.
Back in the early 90's, I became a very serious student of personal
development. So much so, that I have passed this onto my children.
I had the opportunity to have Jim speak directly to my team. Also,
through my Network Marketing contacts, I became friends with one of
the most prolific female Network Marketers of all time, Mrs. Betty
Miles. When consulting for Excel Communications, Betty worked
directly with our team to build a system for her entire organization.
On January 22nd , 2005, I was honored to host the
first "Change Maker" Events seminar in Atlanta , GA. Mrs. Betty
Miles, Mr. E.James Rohn, and myself spoke on stage for an entire
day. However, I was the most proud of my daughter, Traci. She took
the stage and spoke for 10 minutes about the third law of Jim's
legendary training "Three Basic Laws." Then, Traci introduced Mr.
Rohn! It was a very special moment. Jim taught me these laws so
many years ago.
Throughout the middle of 2005, we continued to
test products and services with the JGO Company. However, I
didn't want JGO to just be another Network Marketing company
that sold a product, paid commissions and didn't provide a
lifestyle enhancement for its representatives. I began searching
for ways to help representatives, who were doing well, manage
their money. One of the greatest things about Network Marketing
is also one of the major problems. Networking provides unbelievable
opportunity to make money, but for those who experience growth,
there's no education about how to make their money make money.
So, I began to look for a platform to help representatives put their
money to work. Note: until your money is working for you, you
are working for money. You can have "Christmas Everyday" when
you get your money working for you. You will be free only when
you can support the design of your lifestyle with the money
your money earns.
I was introduced to the Thoroughbred Industry.
This 400 year old industry has survived wars, depressions and
recessions. It is one of the best ways to increase your
lifestyle while diversifying your portfolio. I introduced
people to www.EquineWealth.com ,
a new way to enter the Thoroughbred Industry. In the past,
it took millions to participate in this arena; however, through
"packages" people who previously were unable to get into the
industry now have the opportunity. The Thoroughbred Industry
is a great place to have extreme fun with your money and
possibly enjoy tremendous tax advantages.
Another trend I recognized was the retirement
crisis. I knew if I could show people how to get their money
working for them, we could create a "lifestyle loop" that
started with JGO and finished with the individual creating
a long-term lifestyle enhancement.
Less than three months later, I am meeting
in Atlanta, GA to discuss a new start up company called
"The Retirement Solution." I knew that retirement was
important to everyone and perhaps this company could be
the "component" I was looking for to plug into the
side of JGO, Inc.
I recognized this company had a lot of
promise, but its infrastructure needed a major overhaul.
I spoke to the current executives about this, and they
suggested I step in and put together a scalable design
for the company. So, I went to Ft. Lauderdale and moved
the entire company! I shipped the company's servers to
a state of the art facility, moved customer service to
my facility in Aiken and upgraded the back office system
for the representatives to a respectable company.
2006-2008
I was proud of the work my team and I
completed with The Retirement Solution. Through my
consulting company, Success Centre' International, Inc.
we also handle support for StockDiagnostics.com, Inc.
and Newsgrade Corporation. I knew that the marriage
between my company and these organizations would be
a win-win.
Since The Retirement Solution was going
to become a public entity, I decided it was best that
someone more experienced with taking a company public
be at the helm. So, I stepped down as the President and
CEO and through my consulting company, continue to run
all operations for The Retirement Solution. I am happy
to report as of this writing, The Retirement Solution
is a publicly traded company (GISV.ob) and is doing
very well.
I was able to leave with the exclusive
rights to portfolio software and build two new systems,
one generic and one private label. The generic system, www.HomebusinessFinanical.com,
is for the entire industry and a private label version for JGO,
Inc. is www.JGOFinancial.com. Obviously, the major difference
between using our software and using the conventional Investor
Advisor is personality/human’s best guess versus software that
out performs any humans. This software has outperformed all
five major indices since 2006.
2009-Present
With the completion of the PURE by JGO® Body Care, Baby Care, and Skin Care systems the JGO, Inc. introductory product line is now complete. It is time to move JGO, Inc. from formulation into concentration. Throughout 2010 JGO, Inc. will continue to assemble teams and these teams will insure JGO arrives at the concentration phase in record time.
Throughout 2010 and early 2011 JGO, Inc. will add to the JGO Financial arm, wealth creation products that will insure its representatives not only make extra money but, create true wealth.
Because of my relationship with leadership both in Canada and Asia, International expansion will be easy and set for 2012 and 2013. All support has been established for a smooth build in Korea, with Canada to be complete early 2013.
Remember, never go until leadership takes you. My presence in Korea and Canada is as strong if not stronger than in the US. Here we go. JGO, Inc. is destined to be a very large MLM company.
